We at the Beagle Campaign would like to thank you so much for your amazing support. To go from 80 to 1,600 supporters in only sixty days, and securing almost 40% of the vote from a standing start, is exceptional. And that was despite being unable to access a membership list guarded by the Data Protection Act, and a president who not only urged Fellows to vote against the Resolution on the back of the ballot paper, but also cast 400 proxy votes against us. The result you helped to secure represents a sizeable and significant percentage of the Fellowship, which simply cannot be ignored.
Since the SGM, eleven days ago, there has been a fair amount of press which, in case you have not seen, is listed below:
The Sunday Times
Dr. Livingroom I Presume by AA Gill
The Times
There's a Whole world out there still waiting to be explored
The Evening Standard
Palin Ventures into Uncharted Waters as head of warring Geographers
The Spectator
Beagles Lead the Way
The Independent
Explorers are told to pack their bags
Finally, the AGM is on Monday June 1st, and as mentioned in our last letter to you - that is if you have not already done so - please remember to vote for Justin Marozzi and Rupert Grey. One of our objectives is to restore balance to our great Society and, to do that, we must push for greater representation on Council.
Best Wishes,
The Beagle Campaign
